What is Taiga?
Taiga is the Russian word for forest and it's the largest biomes in the world. It's known as the boreal forest. It goes into Eurasia and North America (a lot of Canada). Taiga is just below the tundra biome. The winters there are really chilly with only snow as precipitation, while the taiga has warm, humid, rainy summers. The taiga doesn't have as many plant or animals as a deciduous or tropical rain forest biome, but there are millions of insects in the summer so birds migrate to the taiga to feed on them and make nests.
